NAU Women's Tennis' Lodewijks, Szavay Land in ITA National Doubles Rankings

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced yesterday, April 5, the Division I women's national doubles rankings. Northern Arizona University women's tennis players Hanneke Lodewijks and Blanka Szavay are now ranked No. 81 in the country after an impressive couple weeks for the Lumberjacks.

Lodewijks and Szavay are both in their first seasons for NAU, but have gelled together from the get-go on court one.

It all started during the fall campaign where Lodewijks and Szavay upset No. 41 Ole Miss at the Rebel Fall Invite. This was their first time teaming up at No. 1 doubles and surely their success has not diminished in the spring season. On March 28, the tandem upset Arizona State's No. 22 (now No. 26) Ebony Panoho and Alexandra Osborne.

Overall, Szavay/Lodewijks lead the team in wins in doubles action as they sit at 12-4 and have won five straight matches. In conference play, the duo is 3-2 with two more regular season matches on deck versus the University of North Dakota and Southern Utah University.
