NAU's Tim Handel Ranked Regionally

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Tim Handel was recently ranked in singles earlier this month in the Oracle/ITA Division I Mountain Regional rankings. Handel became the first athlete in school history to receive a singles ranking in men's tennis in at least 15 years. The sophomore was ranked 13th among athletes from UNLV, Utah State, Denver, Utah, New Mexico State, New Mexico and Boise State.
Handel coming off a 13-10 overall singles record and 8-2 in conference play is the only athlete in the Big Sky Conference ranked in singles for men's tennis. Handel finished 2016 garnering an All-Big Sky first-team selection and a Big Sky Player of the Week honor.
Handel first came to NAU from Germany and attended Johannes Kepler Gymnasium. He is now majoring in business.
