Newcomer Chiara Tomasetti is Regionally Ranked

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — For the first time in at least a decade, the NAU Women's Tennis team is home to a regionally ranked in singles. Freshman Chiara Tomasetti, ranked 18th in the Oracle/ITA Division I Mountain Regional rankings, was recently ranked with athletes from Nevada, UNLV, Colorado, Denver, Utah, BYU, New Mexico and Wyoming.
Tomasetti is the only athlete in the Big Sky Conference ranked in singles for women's tennis. Tomasetti stood out in the fall with a 3-1 singles record and qualified for the Round 16 in the ITA Regional Championships after upsetting the No.9 seed Magdalena Stencel of Wyoming.
The newcomer from Germany is majoring in business economics.
