NAU Athletics Celebrates 17 Fall Graduates

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – A total of 17 former and current Northern Arizona student-athletes participated in Friday's fall 2017 commencement ceremonies in the Walkup Skydome.
Earlier on Friday, the Athletics Department held a reception for their graduates where they received their student-athlete stoles. This fall's graduating class has combined for 52 individual all-conference honors and has been a part of a whopping 45 conference championships. Matt Baxter was a leading member of NAU's back-to-back NCAA Championship cross country teams and along with Brooke Andersen, the two have combined for six All-American honors.
In the classroom, they were stellar with a class cumulative grade point average of 3.29. Fourteen of the 17 graduates hold a GPA above a 3.0 and four are above a 3.5. The graduates were also model student-athletes in the community, combining for 849 hours of community service. Also among the 17 is Alexa Geiger, who was a Gold Axe recipient this semester.
