Four Lumberjacks Named WGCA All-American Scholars

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Northern Arizona golf had four student-athletes named to the Women's Collegiate Golf All-American Scholars list, announced Thursday, by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA). Carly Akine, Sofia Anokhina, Sierra Bezdicek, and Loren Skibba were all honored with the award.
In order to be selected for the honor, each golfer must uphold a minimum 3.50 grade point average (GPA) throughout the academic year. A total of 952 women's collegiate golfers were recognized with this prestigious honor.
All four student-athletes worked hard throughout the season, as the team finished fourth at the Big Sky Championships. The team was in the hunt for a top-three finish several times this season, as they played a highly competitive schedule. In the classroom, all four student-athletes recorded above a 3.51 grade point average – Bezdicek (3.51), Akine (3.52), Anokhina (3.66), and Skibba (3.67).
