ITA Men's All-American Championships Update Four
Tulsa, Okla. (October 2, 2018) – The ITA Men's All-American National Championship has come to an end for Northern Arizona as Tim Handel fell in the third round of singles on Tuesday.

Handel began the day in a second round matchup against Boriss Kamdem of Tulsa.  Handel started off the match losing the first set 2-6, but was able to storm back to win the final two sets, 6-3 and 6-4.  With this win Handel moved onto the third round and will have a chance to play in the main draw.  The main draw consists of the top 32 players in the country.

In his third round match, Handel faced off against Rodrigo Banzer of Texas.  Unfortunately, Handel lost as he fell in the first two sets, 6-4 and 6-0.  The loss marks the end of the ITA's for the 'Jacks.

"Tim had a great run in the tournament and played a very high level of tennis," NAU head coach Maciej Bogusz said.  "We know the things we do well now, and the things we can improve, and that's what we will be focusing on for the next couple of weeks before regionals."

The Lumberjacks will be back in action at the ITA Mountain Regionals in Las Vegas, Nev from Sunday, Oct. 14 to Friday, Oct. 19.
