FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (October 9, 2019) – After traveling to Portland State and Sacramento State, Northern Arizona University women's soccer will be back at home this weekend for a pair of games to face the University of Montana on Friday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. and University of Northern Colorado on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m.
The Big Sky Conference contests started about three weeks ago, when Northern Arizona took on Southern Utah. NAU is currently placed sixth in the conference after receiving a win against SUU, a tie against Sacramento State and a loss against PSU.
Against the Hornets,
Emma Robson scored the game-tying goal at the 64th minute, recording a 1-1 draw. The 'Jacks were unable to score against PSU, falling 0-1. During each contest, the Lumberjacks outshot their Big Sky opponents. NAU recorded nine shots, five on-goal, while Sacramento State recorded seven, three being on-goal. Northern Arizona continued with 17 shots, eight on-goal against Portland State's 15 shots, six on-goal.
Montana (4-5-3, 3-0-0 Big Sky)

Last year, Montana clinched the title of Big Sky Champion. Montana currently holds the first-place spot in the Big Sky after winning three conference games in a row. UM has scored seven total goals with two belonging to two different players: Alexa Coyle and McKenzie Kilpatrick. Coyle scored the game winning goal against Idaho State on Oct. 6, helping the Griz to win 2-1. Kilpatrick also helped UM to win 1-0 over Cal Poly on Sept. 13.
Claire Howard, UM's goalkeeper, has made 50 saves after facing 130 shots, only allowing 13 goals.

Northern Colorado places third in the Big Sky Conference after winning two games and tying twice. UNC has scored 15 goals, scoring 1.00 goals per game. Northern Colorado's leading goal scorer, Olivia Seddon, has scored three of the total goals and recorded an assist. All three of her goals have been against Big Sky opponents: Eastern Washington, Idaho and Weber State.
UNC has played two of their goalkeepers: Taylor Washington and Ashley Franza. Washington has made 27 saves with Franza saving 33. Together, they have faced 193 shots.
