ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (September 15) – Northern Arizona University women's soccer (2-3-1) ends their match against New Mexico (3-3) with a loss of 3-0.
The Lobos took the lead right away, scoring in the first 38 seconds of the game. Their two following goals in the first half secured their win over the Lumberjacks.
At the half, NAU's
Paige Maling,
Madison Montgomery and
Mei-Te Coco had all taken a shot, with Maling and Coco forcing UNM's goalie to make a save.
Coming into the second, the Lumberjacks played harder offensively, taking seven shots, five being on-goal, during the first 7 minutes. The team continued to crank out shots, ending the both sets with 11 total shots and eight on-goal.
The 'Jacks were unable to score against the Lobos.
NAU has not played a home game since Sept. 1, where they found a 4-0 win over Detroit Mercy. The next two games this upcoming weekend will wrap up their away game stretch as they play at UNLV Friday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. MST and then at New Mexico State University, Sunday, Sept. 22 at 12 p.m. MST.
