FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (February 11, 2020) – Registration for the Northern Arizona volleyball 2020 summer camps is now open as head coach
Ken Murphy and the Lumberjack volleyball program will host three camps in July in the Walkup Skydome.
As aspiring volleyball players are accustomed to, the Lumberjacks will host three summer camps including an All Skills Camp, Team Camp and Advanced Camp on the NAU campus, which will provide an array of instruction for youth of all abilities.
Murphy, his staff and student-athletes will provide skill instruction throughout the entirety of all three camps. The camps will be held in the Walkup Skydome on six volleyball sport courts with additional instruction in the Rolle Activity Center as space is needed.
NAU's first camp will be the All Skills Camp will from July 11-13. It is open to girls entering grades 5-12 in the fall of 2020 and is designed for campers of all skill sets. Skill breakdown will include passing, serving and hitting through drills and game play in six two-hour session with position group breakdowns in two of those sessions for more specific training.
Next will be the Lumberjacks' Team Camp from July 14-16. The Team Camp is designed for high school teams who are interested in getting ready for their upcoming seasons in the fall through game experience combined with individual skill training sessions. Chalk talks and socials will be available for coaches in addition to drill demonstrations. Players must be invited by their high school volleyball coach to participate in the Team Camp.
Lastly, NAU will wrap up its summer camps with the Advanced Camp from July 17-19 and is designed for girls entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2020 who are interested in playing volleyball at the next-level. The Advanced Camp will include a mix of position specific training along with insight into how college athletes train while incorporating games and drills to implement skills learned through seven two-hour sessions.
