Box Score

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (November 11, 2022) - NAU Soccer closes out historic 2022 season at UCLA in 4-1 loss to the No. 1 Bruins.

The Lumberjacks allowed two goals through the first eight minutes of the match, both coming from Lexi Wright up the left side of the field. Wright's first was unassisted as the sophomore dribbled up the field, sending the shot from just inside the box. Wright's second was assisted by Maricarmen Reyes from about midfield, putting Wright in the same position as her first score of the night.

Mikhail Johnson saw the Jacks first opportunity of the match as she intercepted a UCLA ball and sped up midfield, taking a shot outside the box, hitting the top crossbar.

Trinity Corcoran started in goal for the Lumberjacks, making four saves in the first 13 minutes, as the Bruins continued to press NAU's backline. In the 21st minute of the match, Corcoran recorded her fifth save as Lily Reale sent a cross from midfield to Ally Cook who quickly took her shot as she picked up the ball.

The Bruins found their third of the match in the 39th minute as Ally Lemos connected with Emma Egizii for her first career goal. Egizii challenged Corcoran one on one, as she was able to get passed and score the goal.

Natalie Manzo started the second half in goal for NAU, making her first save in the 47th minute as Quincy McMahon put a tough shot on goal from just outside the box. In the 68th, Manzo saved her second of the night as UCLA freshman Sofia Cook put one on goal.

The Lumberjacks held the Bruins scoreless through most of the second half, giving up the fourth goal in the 83rd minute. Sunshine Fontes sent a striking shot from the ground to score in the bottom left corner.

Senior Randalyn Hunter created her storybook ending to a dedicated Lumberjack career, scoring her first goal in the 86th minute, after a bounce off the UCLA keeper. Hunter found the rebound and quickly put it in goal in front of her home crowd in her last game for NAU.

The Lumberjacks close out their historic season with a final record of 10-6-4, as the only team in program history to champion both the regular season as well as the Big Sky tournament.
