NAU Soccer Splits Away and Home Matches This Weekend

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (September 7, 2022) - The Lumberjacks are hitting the road for the first time this season, as they head to California to take on CSU Bakersfield Friday night, with a game time of 7 p.m. MST.

The Lumberjacks are only on the road for one match before heading back home to host Air Force on Sunday, Sept. 11. Sunday's match will kick off at 1 p.m. MST. Both games will be available to watch on ESPN+, you can find live stats for Friday night's match here, and here for Sunday's match.

The Lumberjacks are looking to secure their first win of the season, as they currently hold a record of 0-2-2. The 'Jacks return to play after a 0-0 draw with Georgia Southern, where sophomore goalkeeper Trinity Corcoran recorded a career high eight saves in her first career shutout. Corcoran has a save percentage of .800 through 225 minutes of play.

NAU's offense is currently led by freshman Avery Ott and junior Josie Novak. Ott has one goal and one assist through 301 minutes of play. Novak has one goal through 165 minutes and holds a SOG% of 0.571.

Bakersfield currently holds a 1-4 record with their only win coming in the first regular season matchup with UNLV, where the roadrunners came up with the 2-1 win at the Lobo Invitational. CSUB is coming off a loss to Big Sky foe Montana who shutout the roadrunners 3-0 in Missoula.

CSUB is led by Regielly Halldorsdottir who has two goals throughout the season, both coming in the team's win to UNLV. Halldorsdottir holds a SOG% of .429 this season throughout 267 minutes. Karen Flores has one goal and one assist along with four shots on goal through 379 minutes. Goalkeeper Hollee Hercik holds a save percentage of 0.667 through 360 minutes of play.

Air Force will head to Flagstaff for Sunday's matchup, after a two week break from games, with a 1-2-1 record. The Falcons most recent match against Bucknell resulted in an Air Force loss as Bucknell pulled out the 1-0 victory.

Jenna Rubidoux leads Air Force with one goal and a SOG% of 1.000. Goalkeeper Cammi Bych has played all 360 minutes for the Falcons, allowing seven goals and recording 12 saves with a save percentage of 0.632.
