FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Nov. 26, 2024) – Two Lumberjacks have earned Big Sky All-Conference Team honors, with one also being named Libero of the Year.
Taylor Jacobsen was selected to the Big Sky All-Conference First Team. The graduate student from Chandler, Arizona, ranks second in the conference in kills, averaging 3.83 kills per set with 318 kills across 83 sets played.
In the Northern Arizona record book, Jacobsen has moved up to second all-time with a career total of 1,384 kills. She is also tied for first in career service aces with 124. This season, Jacobsen joined the prestigious 1,000 kill/1,000 dig club, with her career dig total now at 1,115 - good for ninth in program history. Her 42 solo blocks place her in a tie for eighth all-time. With 13 double-doubles this season, her career total of 49 ranks second in school history.
This season, Jacobsen earned a Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week award for her standout performance in the UC San Diego tournament at the start of 2024. It marked the third honor of her career, having previously won the award in 2019 and 2021. Over the tournament, she posted a .330 hitting percentage with 43 kills on 106 attempts and just eight errors. She added three service aces, six blocks, and 29 digs, averaging 4.3 kills, 0.30 service aces, 2.9 digs, and 0.60 blocks per set, alongside two double-doubles in three matches.
Millie O'Ketter was named the Big Sky Conference Libero of the Year. The graduate student from Durango, Colorado, led the conference throughout the season in digs, currently averaging 4.75 digs per set in conference play. O'Ketter was also named to the Big Sky All-Conference Second Team.
With a career total of 1,867 digs, O'Ketter ranks second in NAU history and is just 25 digs shy of surpassing Anna Gott (2009-2012), who holds the top spot with 1,891. She is tied with Jacobsen for most career service aces at NAU, with 124. This season, O'Ketter was named Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week three times.
The Lumberjacks will face Idaho State tomorrow in the quarterfinal round of the Big Sky Conference Tournament. The match begins at 5:00 p.m. Mountain Standard time and will be available to stream on ESPN+.
