FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Dec. 3, 2024) – The Northern Arizona women's swimming and diving teams aim to build on their momentum as they host Utah Tech at the Wall Aquatic Center on Friday, Dec. 6, and Saturday, Dec. 7.
The swimmers recently competed in the TYR/CMU Invitational, hosted by Colorado Mesa alongside Wyoming, Colorado School of Mines, and Utah. The Lumberjacks ended the first day in fourth place with a score of 108 before moving up to third, overtaking Colorado School of Mines with a cumulative score of 249.50. They maintained third place on the third and fourth days with totals of 449.50 and 638.50, respectively.
The divers hosted the Lumberjack Diving Invite and secured 17 top-10 finishes over three days, including two individual wins. Mackenna Stocker scored 580.10 on the first day, winning the 3-meter championship. Victoria Knapp claimed first place on day three with a total score of 604.25 in the 1-meter championship.
Utah Tech most recently hosted its Trailblazer Invitational, competing against UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, Fresno State, UC Davis, Northern Colorado, Cal Baptist, Pacific, UC Bakersfield, San Diego, and Pepperdine. The Trailblazers finished seventh in the women's division with a total score of 119.50, while UC San Diego topped the leaderboard with 763.50 points.
The Lumberjacks last faced the Trailblazers in 2023, earning a 168-113 road victory. NAU leads the all-time series 3-0, dating back to 2020.
Friday's events, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Mountain Standard time include the 400 medley relay, 200 fly, 200 back, 200 breaststroke, 100 IM, and 200 free relay.
Saturday's events, starting at 11:00 a.m. MST, include the 200 medley relay, 200 free, 50 back, 50 breast, 100 fly, 50 free, 1000 free, 100 free, 100 back, 100 breast, 50 fly, 500 free, 200 IM, 400 free relay, and two diving exhibitions.
