NAU Volleyball to Open Big Sky Conference Play Against Weber State

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Sept. 24) - The Northern Arizona women's volleyball team will open Big Sky Conference play with a match against Weber State tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. Mountain Standard time in Rolle Activity Center. Currently, NAU is 7-4 on their season and WSU is 3-8.

This will be the 87th all-time meeting between the Lumberjacks and the Wildcats. The last match between the two was in Flagstaff where Weber State defeated Northern Arizona 3-1. The 'Jacks are currently 47-39 on the all-time series, they have won 28 games in Flagstaff and 18 in Ogden.

Northern Arizona is coming off a five-win streak, with victories over Southern Utah, Gonzaga, New Mexico, Tarleton State, and Utah Tech so far this year. The 'Jacks have earned three Big Sky Player of the Week awards, including an offensive award for Taylor Jacobsen and two defensive awards for Millie O'Ketter. Jacobsen recently joined the 1,000/1,000 club with 1,206 kills and 1,033 digs. The last player to be part of the club was her older sister, Lauren Jacobsen (2012-15).

Weber State is coming off a three-match loss this week as they took on their in-state rivals, Utah Valley (1-3), Brigham Young (0-3) and Utah State (2-3). 

The Big Sky Conference Preseason Coaches' poll tabbed the Wildcats as the favorites going into the 2024 season. Weber State received three first-place votes and 73 overall. Last season the Wildcats finished 11-5 in the Big Sky, while going 21-10 overall.
