LA JOLLA, Calif. (August 21, 2025) – The Northern Arizona women's soccer team played a scoreless draw against the UC San Diego Tritons on Thursday night. This marks the first scoreless match for both the Lumberjacks (1-1-1) and the Tritons (0-1-1) in the 2025 season.
The opening 45 minutes tested both defensive lines. NAU and UCSD both recorded three shots, with keeper
Reece Reichwald earning two saves.
The 'Jacks came out with a lot of aggression in the second half, creating six corner opportunities. In comparison, UC San Diego has seen only one corner opportunity so far this season through two matches.
NAU played a very aggressive second half, more than doubling its shots by recording seven, besting UC San Diego's four.
In 76 minutes, forward
Micala Boex had a strong presence for NAU's offense, recording four of its shots. Off the bench,
Kaylee Muniz had a strong impact on the offense with three shots, two of them on goal, in 42 minutes of play.
The Northern Arizona women's soccer team heads home to welcome Phoenix College for its first-ever matchup on Sunday at 1 p.m. MST, streamed on ESPN+.
