FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (September 16, 2025) – Following a five-game stretch of matches away from Flagstaff, the Northern Arizona women's soccer team will return to Lumberjack Stadium this Thursday as it welcomes Grand Canyon for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
 
The contest will be NAU's lone match for the week and its last on the non-conference slate before beginning Big Sky play next week on September 25.
 
NAU stands at 3-1-4 entering this match, following an unbeaten 1-0-1 week. The 'Jacks beat Southern Utah 2-0 last Thursday and drew Utah Tech 2-2 on Sunday to keep its record away from home a clean 2-0-3. After falling behind 2-0 early in the second half against Utah, NAU also kept its record unbeaten when the opponent scores first at 2-0-1.
 
The 'Jacks are outscoring opponents 13-8 this season. Micala Boex leads the team in goals (five), assists (four), and points (14). She has scored at least one point in five of eight matches this season, collecting her fifth multi-point game this past Sunday against Utah Tech. Boex contributed one goal and one assist in each match last week, earning her Big Sky Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
 
NAU began this season with the goalies in rotation, with freshman Reece Reichwald earning the last six starts between the posts as she has accumulated a 0.93 GAA and 0.838 save percentage. Lexi Savesky has also spent 136 minutes in goal this season with two starts.
 
Grand Canyon stands at 4-3 this season, including a 3-1 mark in road contests. The Antelopes most recently fell to Arizona, 5-2 in Tucson. GCU was picked fifth in the Mountain West Preseason Poll with returning all-conference midfielder AJ Loera and newcomers Ellie Johannes and Neve Renwick making the Preseason All-Conference Team. Tatum Hofstetter currently leads the offense with two goals and one assist. Emma Knack has started in all seven games between the posts, listing a 1.45 GAA and 0.808 save percentage with four shutouts.
