FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Sept. 17, 2025) - The Northern Arizona women's volleyball team continues its last leg of non-conference play, traveling to South Carolina for a true road contest before starting the Wofford Invitational in Spartanburg this weekend.
On Sept. 18, the Lumberjacks will face USC Upstate, playing at 8 a.m. Mountain Standard time. The two teams have only ever met once before, in 2011 when they played at a neutral site in Colorado. NAU took the win, 3-1.

The 'Jacks will remain in Spartanburg for three inaugural matches at the Wofford Invitational. NAU takes on Marshall at 8 a.m. MST and Gardner-Webb at noon MST on Sep. 19, before closing the trip against the hosts on Sep. 20 at 4 p.m. MST.Â
Marshall comes into the tournament at 6-4, fresh off completing the Virginia Tech Tournament where it went 2-1, taking wins over Robert Morris and Maryland Eastern-Shore. The Thundering Herd were picked last in the Sun Belt East Division Preseason Poll, and are led by first-year head coach Heather Stout.Â
Gardner-Webb also boasts a 6-4 mark heading into the weekend, coming off 3-1 win over Hampton for its fifth straight victory. The Bulldogs face Wofford before meeting NAU, and will then play The Citadel and Marshall while in Spartanburg.Â
Wofford stands at 2-6 on the season, having only played one previous match on its home court so far. The Terriers will look to snap a two-game skid against Gardner-Webb and Marshall before facing the Lumberjacks to close the weekend.Â

Northern Arizona is coming off a triple sweep at the Lumberjack Classic, defeating UC San Diego, Texas Tech and Southern Utah in straight sets. Hanah Stoddard, Sophia Wadsworth and Keira Hall were all named to the All-Tournament team, with Stoddard earning her second consecutive Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week award.
The Lumberjacks will open Big Sky Conference play on Sept. 25 at home in Flagstaff against Idaho.Â
