FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (January 23, 2026) – The Northern Arizona men's tennis team opened its 2026 spring season with a pair of emphatic home wins over Western New Mexico, 7-0 and 7-0, on Friday inside the NAU Tennis Center.
NAU begins the spring 2-0, after collecting every points up for grabs in the doubleheader. The 'Jacks swept in singles and won five out of six doubles matches on the day.
Freshmen
Felix Neumeister,
Jakub Jedrzejczak, and
Daniels Tens each secured their first collegiate victories in straight sets, while
Jakub Volesky picked up a double bagel in the first match on court three.
In the afternoon match, NAU found itself in tight competition during doubles, as
Takumi Katsuda and Jedrzejczak fell behind 4-1 on court one. With the point coming down to their match, the pair rallied to take a 7-5 win and give NAU a 1-0 lead to set the 'Jacks up for success in singles.
NAU has now won its season opener five years in a row, and extends its home win streak to 19 matches.
