NAU Swimming & Diving Splits Action Between UCLA Diving Invite and Arizona Dual

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (January 7, 2026) - Northern Arizona Swimming & Diving heads west this week for a busy and competitive stretch, as the Lumberjacks split action between Southern California and Tucson.

The NAU diving squad will travel to Los Angeles for the UCLA Diving Invite, a three-day competition hosted by the UCLA Bruins, running Thursday–Sunday, Jan. 8–11.

The invite features a deep and nationally competitive field, including UCLA (host), UNLV, Utah, Iowa, USC, San Diego State, Hawai'i, Cal Baptist, the University of Idaho, and NAU, providing a strong midseason test for the Lumberjacks on the boards.

Northern Arizona will be represented by Kirsten Clark, Mackenna Stocker, Grace Wesche, and Margaret Wesche, all of whom are entered across 1-meter, 3-meter, and platform events throughout the weekend.

Competition for NAU begins on Friday, Jan. 9, with women's 1-meter springboard prelims and men's 3-meter prelims, followed by finals later in the day. The Lumberjacks are also scheduled to compete in the women's and men's team diving events on Friday.

Action continues on Saturday, Jan. 10, with women's 3-meter springboard prelims and finals, alongside the men's platform competition. The meet concludes on Sunday, Jan. 11, with women's platform and men's 1-meter springboard events, featuring both preliminary and final rounds.

The UCLA Diving Invite provides NAU with valuable opportunities to sharpen execution, gain experience against Power Five and nationally recognized programs, and continue building momentum as the season progresses. Results throughout the weekend will be available on DiveMeets.com, with recaps and updates to follow.

While the divers compete in Los Angeles, the NAU swimming squad will head south to Tucson for a dual meet against the Arizona Wildcats on Friday, Jan. 9 at 1 p.m. (MST).

The match-up against Arizona offers valuable race-day experience against one of the nation's premier programs. Since 2010, Northern Arizona has averaged 106.61 points per meeting against the Wildcats, with the most recent match-up taking place on Jan. 5, 2024, in Tucson. Friday's contest will serve as an important tune-up as the Lumberjacks continue through the heart of their season.

Live results for Arizona dual will be available throughout the weekend on MeetMobile.com.
