Idaho took the opening set 25-19 after establishing an early advantage. The Vandals jumped out to a 5-1 lead and extended the margin to 14-7, putting NAU on its heels. The Lumberjacks began to find their rhythm behind a service ace from Davis and kills from Gottschalk and Stoddard, sparking a five-point stretch that cut the deficit to 15-13. NAU continued to battle, but Idaho answered with another scoring push to maintain control. Greenlee added a pair of kills late in the set, but the Vandals capitalized on Lumberjack errors to close out the 25-19 win.

The Lumberjacks responded in the second set with their most efficient offensive performance of the match, hitting .345 while committing just two attack errors. After trading points through the early stages, NAU worked its way back into contention and eventually took the lead at 14-12. The teams continued to exchange points, with 12 ties in the set, before Idaho moved ahead 21-20. NAU answered emphatically, scoring the final five points to secure a 25-21 victory. Coyle delivered three kills during the closing stretch, and Stoddard finished the set with another kill to even the match at one set apiece.

Northern Arizona carried that momentum into the third set, overcoming an early deficit before taking control with a decisive late run. After trailing 7-2, the Lumberjacks gradually chipped away at Idaho's lead, with contributions from Coyle, Stoddard and Perez. Davis added a service ace as NAU continued to build pressure, eventually tying the score at 12-12. The teams remained close through a 15-15 deadlock before the Lumberjacks took over. NAU scored 10 of the final 11 points, turning a tight set into a commanding 25-16 victory. Coyle sparked the surge with a service ace and timely kills, while Perez and Greenlee helped strengthen the attack. The Lumberjacks also came up with key blocks at the net, limiting Idaho to eight kills and eight errors in the set as the Vandals hit .000.

With momentum on their side, the Lumberjacks faced one final challenge in the fourth set. The teams traded leads throughout a competitive frame that featured 12 ties and nine lead changes. NAU gradually gained an advantage behind kills from Coyle, Greenlee, Stoddard and Lauren Edlund moving ahead 16-14 before Idaho rallied to level the score at 17-17. The Vandals then threatened to force a fifth set, pulling ahead 23-20 behind a service ace and a series of NAU errors.
