NAU Soccer Set to Close Regular Season with Trio of Road Games

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (October 27, 2026) – The Northern Arizona soccer team begins to wind down the regular season this week with road matches at Idaho State and Weber State.

The Lumberjacks will kickoff against the Bengals on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. MST and the Wildcats on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m. MST. Both contests will be streamed on ESPN+.

NAU enters the week at 8-4-4 and is on a nine-match unbeaten streak, standing at 4-0-2 in Big Sky play. The Lumberjacks handled Portland State in a 4-0 win on Sunday in the home finale to hold onto first place in the league standings. The 'Jacks last loss was on Sept. 10 at Arizona, and since then, they have outscored opponents 16-3, including 12-2 in conference matches.

Micala Boex continues to lead the attack with seven goals and four assists on the season. She ranks first in the conference in shots per game (5.81), and shots on goal per game (2.44). Lexi Saveski has started in all but one game in goal for NAU and owns a conference-best and 10th in the nation save percentage of 0.886 and a GAA of 0.62 to rank second in the conference.

Boex continues to climb the ladder in the NAU record books this season. Her one-goal, one-assist effort against PSU placed her seventh all-time in points (49) and 10th in assists (13). NAU also recorded its ninth shutout on the year, tied for fifth-most in a season in program history.

Idaho State stands at 4-7-4 and 2-2-2 in league matches. The Bengals most recently took a 1-0 win over Portland State on Oct. 18. Saydree Cook leads the way in all offensive aspects, owning three goals and four assist for 10 points on the season. Aliya Garrett has recorded just over 1,000 minutes in goal, and owns a 1.72 GAA and 0.710 save percentage. The Bengals rank last in the conference in GAA (2.07) and third-to-last in goals per game (0.875). Last season in Flagstaff, NAU earned a 2-2 draw with Idaho State in a scrappy affair that saw nine yellow cards assessed. The 'Jacks are 4-0-1 in their last five meetings with the Bengals.

Sunday's contest in Ogden will have massive implications for seeding in the upcoming Big Sky Championships, as Weber State (8-6-2, 4-1-1 Big Sky) sits third in the league standings with 13 points. The Wildcats were voted the preseason favorite, and most recently responded to a 2-1 loss to Portland State in their first conference blemish with a 3-0 win over Montana on Oct. 18. Weber State will visit Northern Colorado on Thursday prior to arriving in Flagstaff, in another contest that will have big consequences for seeding as the Bears sit second in the standings with 14 points. Lily Blum ranks first in the conference with 10 goals, while Oakley Anderson and Simone Packer have each tallied a trio of goals. Lauren Butorac, the 2025 Big Sky Freshman of the Year, returns in goal and has started in all 16 games, but has allowed 23 goals on the season for a 1.51 GAA.
