NAU Swimming and Diving to Host ASU in First Dual Meet of 26-27 Season

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (October 7, 2026) - The Northern Arizona women's swimming and diving team will host Arizona State on Friday, Oct. 9 in the Wall Aquatic Center. The meet will begin at 3:30 p.m. MST, marking the first dual meet of the season for the Lumberjacks.

Northern Arizona most recently competed in their annual Blue vs. Gold intrasquad meet on Friday, Oct. 2. On the boards, freshman Rebeca Arrechedera dominated, placing first in both the 1-meter (295.20) and 3-meter (314.25) dives. In the pool, freshman Hannah Rutten came out on top in both the 200 individual medley (2:07.59) and the 500 freestyle (5:10.19).

The Arizona State Sun Devils most recently posted a 231-68 victory against Mountain West Conference's UNLV on Friday, Oct. 2, at the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center. Of the 16 events, the Sun Devils saw 14 first place finishes, along with sweeping the podium in seven events.

Sophomore Albane Cachot claimed two individual first place finishes in 50 freestyle (22.03) and 100 freestyle (47.23), along with two first place finishes in both 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay. On the boards, freshman Saeren Brett claimed first in 1-meter (245.85) and 3-meter (247.73) dives.

Head coach Herbie Behm is in his second year at the helm of the Arizona State swimming and diving program, after being elevated from assistant coach in 2024. Under Behm, Arizona State swimming and diving defended their Big 12 Championship title in 2025.

Head diving coach Marc Briggs, is entering his sixth season as the head diving coach of the Arizona State swimming and diving program. Briggs saw two Big 12 Championship titles during his head coaching time.

The last match-up between Northern Arizona and Arizona State was at the All Arizona Invite in Oct. 2025, where the Lumberjacks fell to the Sun Devils (179–64).

Looking ahead, the Lumberjacks will host Washington State (Oct. 30) and Idaho (Oct. 31) before hitting the road in Nov.
