Lumberjacks Fall in Competitive 5-2 Affair at Grand Canyon

PHOENIX (February 13, 2026) – The Northern Arizona men's tennis team battled in a 5-2 loss to Grand Canyon on Friday afternoon at the GCU Tennis Facility.

NAU moves to 4-3 while GCU improves to 7-1.

NAU clinched the doubles point behind a 7-6(7-3) tiebreaker victory from Takumi Katsuda and Vincent Vohl on court one, who teamed up for the first time this season. Jakub Jedrzejczak and Daniels Tens took the other doubles win for the 'Jacks on court three.

The Lopes jumped back out in front with wins on courts five and two, as Jedrzejczak fell in a competitive three-set match to Andreas Loizas. Jakub Volesky tied things up again at 2-2, with a win on court three in three sets, snapping his two-match skid in singles.

Takumi Katsuda also battled in three sets but fell on court four as GCU sat on the verge of the clinch. Both Tcherniack and Tens pushed then their matches to three sets on courts one and six, but came up short as the match ended in a 5-2 decision for the Lopes.
