FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (August 28, 2026) – The Northern Arizona soccer team is back in action this weekend, hosting UTEP on Sunday, Aug. 30. The Lumberjacks will kickoff against the Miners at 1 p.m. Mountain Standard time inside of Lumberjack Stadium. The contest will be streamed on ESPN+, with live stats available

NAU brings an even 1-1-1 record into the weekend, after drawing UC San Diego 0-0 last Sunday to record its second shutout on the season.
Micala Boex and
Ava Hinske have tallied NAU's goals this year, with
Kaylee Muniz and
Taija Anderson owning one assist apiece.
Lexi Saveski has spent all 270 minutes of the season in goal and has made 12 total saves for an .857 save percentage. NAU is ranked third in the Big Sky in GAA (0.67), and shots per game (12).
The Lumberjacks have started a season 1-1-1 four times in program history, most recently in the 2025 season when they finished 6-6-7. NAU also began the 2009 season 1-1-1, when it claimed the Big Sky Championship.
UTEP stands unbeaten at 2-0-2 entering the weekend and last earned a 0-0 draw with Abilene Christian on Aug. 23. The Miners were picked ninth in the Mountain West preseason poll and are the second of four opponents NAU will face from the league this season. Zeta McDannels, Ashlee Moira, and Ashlyn Neireitter each received nods to the conference's Watch List. McDannels and Neireitter have tallied two goals apiece. Savannah Finley has spent the most minutes in goal and has made 11 saves for a .917 save percentage.
It will be the seventh meeting all-time between the schools, as NAU trails 2-4 in the series. The two last met in 2023, when NAU took a 3-2 win in El Paso.
