NEW ORLEANS, La. (September 29, 2026) – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its latest national rankings, with the NAU women's team ranked fourth and the men's team ranked 11th.
The women's team moved up two spots, while the men's team moved up one following their performances at the John McNichols Invitational in Terre Haute, Indiana, which will host the NCAA Championships.
The women's team won the John McNichols Invitational in dominant fashion. The Lumberjacks finished with an impressive team score of 61 points to secure first place.
Ava Mitchell placed seventh individually to help lead the team, with
Elsa Sundqvist following closely behind in ninth, and freshman
Eleanor Voykin delivered a strong performance to finish 12th.
The men's team placed seventh among nationally ranked teams, including BYU and Florida.
Erik Le Roux led Northern Arizona, finishing 15th overall.
Northern Arizona will compete in its next meet at the Wisconsin Nuttycombe Invitational on Oct. 9 in Madison, Wisconsin. The meet will provide a competitive opportunity for the Lumberjacks before they begin the championship season.
