Had a phenomenal outdoor campaign, highlighted by a 20-second career-best improvement in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA West Preliminary Round ... Ran the steeplechase four times, improving his time in each outing ... Won the Open-A division of the men's steeplechase at the Mt. SAC Relays in a time of 8:48.51 ... PR-ed once again in a bronze-medal effort in the steeple at Big Sky Outdoors, then followed up with another bronze in the 5000m (14:30.15) ... 2012: Competed in three events for the Lumberjacks in his first indoor season ... Had the team’s second-best mark at season’s end in the 3,000-meter run after posting a time of 8:17.11 in a fifth-place effort at Big Sky Indoors ... Also ran his career-best in the 5000m at the same meet, clocking 14:32.09 and finishing fourth overall as one of five NAU scorers ... Competed in the steeplechase and the 5000m during the outdoor season, and was NAU’s No. 2 steeplechaser and No. 3 5K runner ... Narrowly missed going sub-nine minutes in his best outing in the steeplechase, running 9:04.40 at the Mt. SAC Relays ... Surprised everyone by taking the Big Sky title in the 5000m, running a then-personal best 14:26.88 to close out a remarkable freshman season
