2017: Competed at six meets during the indoor campaign for the Lumberjacks … PR’ed in the weight throw each consecutive week during the season before topping out at the NAU Tune-Up with a 21.66m (71' 0.75") toss … That throw was both an NAU and Big Sky record … Won her first conference title in the weight throw at indoor conference … Punched a ticket to indoor nationals, where she earned a second-team All-American mark (11th—20.29m, 66' 7") … Competed at eight more outdoor meets in the hammer throw … Began season with three consecutive victories (UC Irvine, Texas Relays and Jim Click) … Despite fouling out at conference, went into NCAA West Prelims with the third-best throw in the nation … Placed second in the hammer throw semi-finals in Austin (67.09m, 220' 1") and punched a ticket to NCAA Championships … At nationals, recorded a last-chance, personal-best, first team All-American throw (68.62m, 225' 1") and became the national runner-up … That throw at NCAA’s was a new school and conference record … Andersen’s second-place finish was also the highest of any field athlete in the history of the NAU program at outdoor nationals

Redshirted the outdoor season, but competed at Olympic Trials in the hammer throw where she placed 13th with a 210-9 (64.25m) mark as an unattached athlete
