1996 NAU Athletics Hall of Fame Class
Alphonse Curry
(Track and Field/Football 1977-80)
Curry once held the school's all-time leading scorer in Big Sky track and field meets, accumulation 102.5 points in his four-year, six-championship career. During the course of his indoor running career he earned league titles in both the 60- and 440-yard dashes. Outdoors, Curry took the gold in the 100- and 200-meter dashes. He also was a part of two conference championship relay teams. On the gridiron, Curry caught a 59-yard touchdown pass against Boise State that helped clinch NAU's Big Sky football championship in 1978.
