Procedures are set in place for any student or student organization/club interested in reserving a student tailgate space at a home football game. In an effort to serve as many different student organizations/clubs as possible and to provide easy, accommodative access to tailgating in our student lot, all steps will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Tuesday of Game Week

• Information for the upcoming NAU Football game and how to claim parking passes will be included in the NAU Athletics Marketing email
  • Number of spots each organization/club can reserve will fluctuate based off of overall demand of game

Thursday of Game Week

• How to receive a tailgate pass:
  • From 9am - 3pm come to the Walkup Skydome Box Office (outside of the Skydome by the large Louie statue)
  • One representative can claim tailgate passes for your organization
  • Upon arrival, each organization/club must fill out the tailgate agreement form
  • Once the form is filled out, passes will be granted

Game Day

• Student tailgate lot opens three hours prior to kick-off
• Gates close, no vehicles in or out, two hours prior to kick-off
• You must have your pass and show it while entering the lot
• You will need to "sign up" for specific spot when entering the student tailgate
• Just like the passes, the physical spots are available on a first come, first serve basis
  • If you have passes, you have spots!
• Organizations can use their physical spots how they choose (vehicles, tents, games, etc.) but no organizational or individual supplies may be set up outside of the parking spots to keep lot isles clear
• Passes must be displayed when entering the lot and on the dash once parked

Frequently asked questions

• Can I bring alcohol into or out of Ponderosa? No. No outside alcohol is allowed in and once you purchase alcohol you must finish it or throw it away before exiting the Ponderosa. 
• Is alcohol allowed into student tailgate? Yes. As long as you are 21+ you can bring alcohol into the student tailgate but you must get a wristband.
• If I am not a part of Greek life am I still allowed to tailgate? Yes! The student tailgate is open to all students.
• Do I have to be 21 to enter Ponderosa? No. Ponderosa is open to everyone!
• Can I only get one tailgate pass for my organization? No, you can get more than one pass but there is a limit depending on the game. 
• Will I be able to participate in the parade and student tailgate? Yes! There will be opportunity to set up your tailgate spot before the parade.
