Maggie Barrera ranked in the top 10 in a number of categories in school history including kills (third – 1,406), kill average (second – 3.62 per set), attacks (fourth – 3,429), block solos (tied for eighth – 81) and service aces (ninth – 108) at the time of her induction. She also ranked fourth in kill average (4.38), third in block solos (45), tied for fifth in total blocks (137) and seventh in block average (1.26) at time of induction among NAU Volleyball's all-time single season records. She held two of the top 10 highest single match kill totals (32, tied for fifth and 30, eighth) and was one of five players with at least six solo blocks in a match. A three-time All-Conference player (first team in 2000, second team in 1999 and 2001), Barrera was named the Big Sky Tournament MVP in 1999 when NAU won the Big Sky Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for first time in school history. She became the first player to receive both Big Sky Tournament MVP and Regular Season MVP (2000) and was NAU's Female Athlete of the Year for 2000-01 as a senior.
