Eric Bohn is entering his third year with NAU as a Volunteer Assistant working with the distance athletes. During the previous year, the Lumberjack men’s cross country team won their third straight NCAA Division I National Championship. The Lumberjack men also won Big Sky Championships in cross country and indoor track during the 2018-19 year.
While working with the Lumberjack men’s and women’s track and field teams the past two years, the distance program has produced 15 National Championship qualifiers, seven All-Americans, and two individual National Champions. In addition to the team championships, 11 Lumberjacks also received All-American honors in cross county during the past two seasons. During the 2017-2018 year, the Lumberjack men’s and women’s teams completed a sweep of Big Sky Championship titles in cross country, indoor, and outdoor track.
Bohn competed in cross country and track and field for the University of Arizona and the University of Michigan. While at Arizona, highlights included competing at the 2003 NCAA Cross Country Championships and finishing 9th in the 10,000 meters at the 2004 Pac-10 Track and Field Championships. During his time at Arizona, men’s cross country finished 21st (2001) and 23rd (2003) as a team at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. Michigan placed 5th at the 1999 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
Bohn received his undergraduate degree in Environmental Science at Arizona and was All Pac-10 Academic Honorable Mention. Following graduation, he has worked in environmental health and consulting and was a sponsored trail/ultra runner for six years. He resides in Flagstaff with his 7-year old daughter, Ellie.
