Hannah Levy

Dr. Hannah Levy

Dr. Levy started as Northern Arizona University’s first, full-time sport psychologist in August 2024 as the Director of Sport Psychology. In this role, she works directly with student-athletes, coaches and staff to support the mental health and performance psychology needs of the NAU student-athletes and teams.

Informed by her experience as a Division I lightweight rower, Dr. Hannah has had a clear passion for student-athlete wellness promotion. Previously, Dr. Levy has worked with Washington State Cougars and the University of Oklahoma Sooners providing mental health care and performance psychology.

Her clinical and research interests include sport and performance psychology, barriers/facilitators to help-seeking, athletic identity, transition out of sport, coach-athlete dynamics, interpersonal concerns, and relational issues.

Dr. Levy’s therapeutic approach encourages clients to feel empowered in advocating for themselves and creating space for introspection and curiosity. Effective communication, recognition of identities, understanding of context, and a strong therapeutic relationship are central to her work.

In her free time you can find Dr. Levy training for triathlons, dancing, teaching cycling classes, and spending time with friends/family.
