Vernon Jamison Jr. enters his second season as the graduate assistant for the NAU track and field program.

Before joining the Lumberjacks staff, Jamison Jr. enjoyed a standout career as an athlete at Northern Arizona. 

During his time at NAU, Jamison Jr. was a 10-time individual Big Sky Champion, a eight-time conference team champion, was a constant All-Conference performer and was awarded All-Academic All-American during his career.

During the 2015 season he picked up two Big Sky titles during the indoor season with victoires in the 60-meter and 60-meter hurdles events. He followed that by Jamison Jr. won the title in the 110-meter hurdles, 4x100m and 4x400m relays. He also finished third in the 100-meter dash and was fourth in the 200-meter dash.

In 2014 he took gold at Big Sky Indoors in both the 60-meter hurdles and the 4x400m relay. He followed that with a gold medal in the conference outdoor championships in the 110-meter hurdles and also helped the 4x400 relay team to a bronze.

2013 is when Jamison Jr. won his first Big Sky title at the conference indoor meet and picking up the victory in the 55-meter dash.
