2024-25 (Freshman): Competed in seven events and played 17 rounds as a true freshman... Totaled 1,314 strokes for a scoring average of 77.29... Best finish came at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational where she was tied for 34th after shooting 74, 76, 76 (226, +10)... Recorded two rounds at par of better... Her low 18 of 70 (-2) came at the Clash at Boulder Creek... Her lowest 36-hole score of 147 (+3) was recorded at the Golf Week Red Sky Classic... Her lowest 54-hole score was also at the Golf Week Red Sky Classic where she shot 225 (+9).
High School: Bates attended Tomlinscote School where she won the Surrey School's Championship event in 2019 and 2022. She played for the Gordon's School in the independent national's event in Spain in 2019 and claimed the title as a team and an individual. Bates was also crowned a champion at the Astor Salver event in 2022 where she recorded a score of five-under for 36 holes. The first female to ever win the Wentworth Junior Club Championship, Bates also qualified for the Grand Final in Dubai after winning the Faldo series at the Isle of Purbeck Golf Club.
At the Fulford Golf Club in 2021, Bates finished sixth and advanced through the quarterfinals at the British Girls out of 150 international players. Bates played competitively in the Rose Series, which is a tour set up by Justin Rose alongside professional golfers.
