Barbora Bakova

Barbora Bakova enters her second year as a graduate assistant with the Northern Arizona golf program for the 2019-20 season.

During her first season as a GA with NAU she was a vital part of the recruitment of a strong new class of international freshmen. Two golfers were named to the 2019 Third Team All-Conference list in her first year. In her first campaign withthe 'Jacks she helped lead the team to an average round score of 301.77 over 31 rounds of play. The Lumberjacks ended the season with a seventh-place team finish at Big Sky Conference Championships.

Bakova, a native of Olomouc, Czech Republic, finished her collegiate playing career at Coastal Carolina where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in marketing in 2017. Posting a career average of 76.33 with the Chanticleers, Bakova earned two WGCA All-American Scholar awards and was also named to the Big South Presidential Honor Roll during the 2015-16 season.

No stranger to the Big Sky Conference, Bakova started her career at Montana, where she was a two-time Big Sky All-Academic selection, before transferring to Coastal Carolina. On the course, she posted the best season in program history by a freshman with a scoring average of 76.7. After finishing in a tie for 11th at the Big Sky Championships in 2014, earning her All-Big Sky Second Team honors, she was a unanimous First Team pick in 2015 after tying for fourth overall at the conference tournament.

Bakova has competed internationally, most recently at the 2016 European Ladies Team Championship in Iceland. In 2014, she tied for 17th individually and helped her home country of Czech Republic place third as a team at the World University Championship held in Switzerland.

Since graduating, Bakova lived in Birmingham, Ala. where she has interned with the Alabama Golf Association and Warren Averett.
