Michael Frye, currently the Director of Instruction at Continental Country Club is starting his first season as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the NAU Golf Team in the Fall of 2017. Frye has been a PGA member since 2009 and has a wealth of instruction and playing experience throughout his career.
Originally from Montana, Frye graduated from Culbertson High School in 2004 where he won three individual high school state championships as well as the Montana State Junior Tournament in 2003. Â As a junior golfer, Michael also competed in the Junior World Golf Tournament, Junior America's Cup, and the Montana/Alberta Cup representing his home state of Montana. Â Â
In 2009, Frye graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing with a Professional Golf Management Option. He also gained his PGA membership in 2009 and has worked as an Assistant PGA Professional at courses such as Forest Highlands Golf Club, Oakcreek Country Club, Moon Valley Country Club, and Firerock Country Club.
His most recent role is the Director of Instruction at Continental Country Club here in Flagstaff. Frye has also been very involved in junior golf by coaching the Flagstaff High School Boys golf team for the last two years as well as helping to develop the PGA Junior League program for Northern Arizona since 2015.
Professionally, Frye has competed in notable events such as the PGA Championship in 2012 as well as the PGA Professional National Championship in 2012 and 2013. He also competed in the 2014 National PGA Assistant Championship.
