Chris Campbell

Chris Campbell joined the NAU Women’s Soccer program as an assistant coach and the director of goalkeeping as an assistant coach in July of 2021. Campbell served as a volunteer coach with the Lumberjacks for two seasons prior to his promotion. 

The 2023 season would take the Lumberjacks back to their second-straight conference tournament championship, led by Trinity Corcoran in goal as a Big Sky Conference second-team honoree. Corcoran closed out the season with the No. 2 save percentage in the Big Sky, 0.857, while adding 72 saves and six shutout performances. 

As the goalkeepers coach, Campbell saw a Big Sky Championship with the team in 2022, where keeper Corcoran grabbed back-to-back tournament victories for the Jacks in penalty kicks. Corcoran recorded 1345 minutes in the box while leading the Big Sky in save percentage and goals allowed average while recording 10 shutouts before finishing the season with a save percentage of .881 that ranked No. 5 in the nation in Division-I soccer. Corcoran was crowned the Big Sky Tournament MVP in 2022.

Campbell most recently comes from a head coaching position at the Flagstaff Soccer Club, where he coached for a season before joining the Lumberjack family. He also was an instructor for the club, focusing on shooting.

Campbell graduated from Hawai’i Pacific University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts Psychology. As a Shark, he played during the 2014 and 2015 season, appearing in 30 matches, starting in seven. He totaled over 1060 minutes on the field, scoring five goals ending his career with an on-goal percentage of 0.690.

Prior to playing at HPU, Campbell played two seasons at Chandler-Gilbert Community College from Sept. 2011 to May 2013. 

Campbell also played at Flagstaff High School for coach Mike Jenkins, earning Arizona All-State and Regional First Team honors. He was also named Flagstaff Player of the Year and landed in the ESPN Top-40 Players in Arizona list.
