Junior (2020-21): Found a new best time in the 200 breaststroke at the 2021 WAC Championships (2:23.39), placing 18th in the C finals... Helped NAU by swimming the final leg in the 200 free relay for a fifth place finish (1:34.62)... Competed in the B finals for a 10th place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.75).

Sophomore (2019-20): Swam in the 50 free (24.36), 100 breaststroke (1:04.54), and 200 breaststroke (2:23.71) at the WAC Championships… Placed fourth in 50 freestyle (25.95)  in a winning dual meet against UNC… Sixth in 100 breast (1:08.79) against Idaho.

2018-19 (Freshman): Competed in her first WAC Championships, swimming in the 200 breaststroke, 100 breaststroke, 100 freestyle and 50 freestyle... Made her best times in each event... Swam at 24.56 in the 50 free... 53.25 in the 100 free... 1:05.24 in the 100 breaststroke... and 2:27.50 in the 200 breaststroke.

High School: Three-year letterwinner at Fountain Valley HS...Qualified for the CIF Championships in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke all four years...Swam in the finals of the 50 freestyle in 2017 and 2018...Swam in the finals of the 100 breaststroke in 2015...Placed in the top five in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke in 2016 and 2017 at Sunset League Championships...Holds top 10 times in both events in school history...Helped team win Sunset League Championship in 2017...Two-time All-Sunset League First Team...Received Fountain Valley Coaches Award in 2017...Lettered one year at Orange Lutheran HS...Named Orange Lutheran's Rookie of the Year in 2015...Broke school record in 100 breaststroke and medley relay...Also swam for Golden West Swim Club team…3.8 high school GPA…Honor Roll.

Personal: Abigail Jordan Nelson was born April 15 in Newport Beach, Calif....Daughter of John and CC Nelson…One younger brother, Jack, and two younger sisters, Lucy and Faith…Both parents graduated from NAU...Hobbies include going to the beach and hiking...Lists most exciting event as being at the 2012 London Olympics and watching Michael Phelps win two gold medals…Chose NAU because she believed it was the best fit for her from the competitive swimming program, the coaches, the academics and the beautiful campus.
