Stayson Isobe returned to the Northern Arizona University Athletics Department as Associate Athletic Director for Communications & Brand Strategy in July 2025. Isobe's first stint with NAU Athletics was from 2011-22, in which he started as a Media Relations Graduate Assistant and elevated to Associate AD for Communications in 2020.

Isobe is the primary media contact for the football and men's basketball programs. In addition to handling the day-to-day media coverage of his primary sports, he oversees the department's communications and creative services efforts, including social media, graphic design, photography and videography for NAU's 15 intercollegiate sports.

Isobe rejoined NAU Athletics following a near three-year stint with the Fiesta Sports Foundation, organizers of the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl and Rate Bowl, in Scottsdale, Arizona. At the Fiesta Sports Foundation, Isobe served as Communications & Social Media Manager. In his role, his public relations efforts led to securing statewide coverage for the Foundation's year-round events and philanthropic portfolio in addition to capturing, editing and managing social media content for the Foundation's digital platforms. During Bowl Season, he was a key contact for the two bowl game's national, regional and local media members.

While at NAU, he has handled the publicity for nine conference championship teams and successfully promoted five student-athletes to CoSIDA Academic All-American honors including Tyler Day, the 2019-20 Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Academic All-American of the Year. Additionally, he has publicized three All-Americans for their athletic achievements - Amanda Frost (women's basketball, 2013-14), Janae Vander Ploeg (volleyball, 2015) and Kaylie Jorgenson (volleyball, 2018).

A proud member of CoSIDA's first-ever Diversity & Inclusion Fellowship class in 2022, Isobe was a finalist for the 2017-18 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Grant Burger Media Award as the national winner in the Social Media category.

Isobe, a native of Waipahu, Hawaii, earned his bachelor's degree in Secondary Education Mathematics with a minor in Japanese from NAU in 2011 before completing his master's degree in Educational Leadership from NAU in May 2013.
