Syed Moinuddin serves as NAU Athletics’ first-ever General Manager for all sports, a role created to manage internal Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) operations following approval of the House settlement in June 2025.
In his role, Moinuddin provides oversight of the department’s revenue sharing benefits pool and cap while preparing student-athlete licensing and endorsement agreements, facilitating student-athlete payments and ensuring compliance with the House settlement including, but not limited to, reporting all licenses and payments to the College Sports Commission.
As a member of NAU Athletics’ administration, Moinuddin provides executive senior oversight of the Student-Athlete Services and Athletics Business offices as well as serves as a liaison to the Offices of the President and General Counsel for NCAA matters. Moinuddin also serves as sport administrator for the men’s and women’s tennis programs.
Moinuddin arrived at NAU in November 2013 as the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance. Since arriving at NAU, Moinuddin streamlined internal operations by merging Athletics Academic Services and Compliance into Student-Athlete Services and implementing Teamworks department-wide. Moinuddin has served on the Big Sky Conference Legislative Review Committee and NCAA Division I Interpretations Committee.
Prior to NAU, Moinuddin served as the Director of Compliance at the University of Oklahoma for the past year. Moinuddin also previously spent time at the University of Houston, where he concluded his tenure as Associate Director of Compliance and completed compliance internships at the University of Tulsa and the University of Miami (FL).
Moinuddin, a native of Houston, Texas, received his bachelor's degree from the University of Texas and his Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa.
He resides in Flagstaff with his wife, Linsey, and his two sons, Benji and Solomon.
