Abby Akin was named Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week after leading the NAU volleyball team to a pair of victories over Southern Utah on Monday, Oct. 21 and Northern Colorado on Thursday, Oct. 28. She averaged 3.14 kills per set on .526 combined hitting and also added four service aces. Akin hit .500 or better in both matches starting with a 13-kill performance on .545 hitting over Southern Utah. Akin followed with nine kills on .500 hitting along with three aces in NAU's sweep of Northern Colorado, which ended the Bears' eight-match win streak. Her kill on match point, for the second straight match, clinched the victory and handed Northern Colorado its first Big Sky loss of the season.
