FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Oct. 10, 2017) - The No. 24 ranked Northern Arizona football team hits the road this week for the first time since Sept. 23 as it travels to battle Portland State in a Big Sky Conference showdown on Saturday, Oct. 14 in a 2 p.m. ET kickoff at Providence Park.
Saturday's game will be streamed via live video on Pluto TV (Channel 232). The game will also be available on the Lumberjack Radio Network withÂ

The Lumberjacks are 1-1 on the road this season entering Saturday's action with a previous win at Cal Poly (28-10/Sept. 23) and a loss at Arizona (24-62/Sept. 2).
Northern Arizona will be looking for its fourth consecutive win on Saturday and seeking its first four-game winning streak since last season when it ran off four straight wins against Montana State, Idaho State, Montana and Weber State from Oct. 8 - Nov. 5.
Northern Arizona and Portland State have only played once over the last four seasons due to the expanded Big Sky Football Conference schedule. NAU has won six of the last seven meetings with the Vikings with the lone loss in that stretch coming during the 2011 campaign.
The Lumberjacks are 8-3 all-time against the Vikings in games played at Portland and have not lost in the Rose City since Sept. 17, 2011 when they dropped a 31-29 decision. NAU has won six of the last seven games overall in the series and nine of the last 12.
COOKUS CLOSING IN ON 6,000 YARDS
- NAU Sophomore quarterback Case Cookus enters Saturday's game vs. Portland State just 126 yards shy of 6,000 passing yards for his career (5,874 yards entering Saturday).
- Cookus also currently sits 90 yards short of moving past Scott Lindquist (5,964) for seventh place on the NAU career passing list. Â He is 420 yards shy of John Bonds for sixth-place overall.
LUMBERJACKS CRACK FCS COACHES TOP 25
- NAU made its first appearance of the 2017 season in the FCS Coaches Top 25 at No. 24 (40 points) in the poll which was released Oct. 9.
- The last time the Lumberjacks were ranked in the FCS Coaches Top 25 was during Week 4 of the 2016 season when it was slotted at No. 25 (Sept. 19, 2016).
- NAU also received a total of 136 points in the STATS FCS Top 25 – good for 28th most overall.
400 YARDS ON OFFENSE AND COUNTING...
- Northern Arizona has posted a total of 400 yards of total offense in four of five games this season following its 431-yard effort in its most recent action against then No. 7/11 Illinois State.
- The Lumberjacks have posted 400-plus yards of offense in each of the last three games overall entering Saturday's clash at Portland State.
- NAU's only game this season below 400 yards was on Sept. 9 vs. Western Illinois (278).
LUMBERJACK AIR FLYING HIGH
- Northern Arizona ranks seventh among all FCS programs nationally with an average of 335.6 passing yards per contest through five games.
- The Lumberjacks have tossed for over 300 yards in three of five games this season.
- Sophomore quarterback ranks seventh nationally with an average of 316.8 passing yards per game and 17th with 12 passing TDs.
- Senior receiver Elijah Marks sits fifth among national FCS leaders with an average of 119.6 receiving yards per contest and eighth in total receiving yards (598).
- Marks also ranks fourth nationally in all-purpose yardage at 160.4 per game.Â
