COMPLETE FCS COACHES TOP 25 POLL
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Oct. 16, 2017) – The Northern Arizona football team moved up two slots to No. 22 in the latest FCS Coaches Top 25, which was released Monday.
The Lumberjacks, who are currently on a four-game winning streak, earned 102 points in the poll – 23 behind No. 21 Western Carolina. The winning skein marks NAU's longest since posting four consecutive victories from Oct. 8-Nov. 5, 2016.
Northern Arizona rose two spots in the FCS Coaches poll following its 42-20 road victory at Portland State last Saturday. The 'Jacks finished with 484 yards of total offense in the win over the Vikings – their fifth over the first six games this season in which they have totaled at least 400 yards.
Defensively, NAU limited Portland State to 20 points – marking the fourth consecutive game that the 'Jacks have limited their opponent to 20 points or less – the longest streak for the program since 1995.
NAU also received a total of 276 points in the STATS FCS Top 25 – good for 26th most overall and just 80 behind No. 25 North Carolina Central.
The Lumberjacks return home next weekend on Saturday, Oct. 21 for a showdown against UC Davis in a 4 p.m. MST kickoff from the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome.
