FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Dec. 13, 2017) –
The Northern Arizona men's basketball team will be looking for its third win of the season when it hosts the University of South Dakota in a 6:30 p.m. MST tip on Thursday, Dec. 14 at the Rolle Activity Center in the final home non-conference game of the season.

Thursday's game will be aired live on the Lumberjack Radio Network, beginning with the pregame show at 6 p.m. MST, with the voice of the Lumberjacks Mitch Strohman on the call.

Northern Arizona is currently 2-8 overall on the season and has played the 13th-most difficult schedule in the nation (out of 351 teams) entering Thursday's meeting with South Dakota, according to the most recent Sagarin Ratings.

Sophomore JoJo Anderson leads the 'Jacks with an average of 10.4 points per game and has posted double-figure scoring numbers in six games this season.  Fellow sophomore Chris Bowling chips in 9.7, while Torry Johnson adds 9.2 ppg.

South Dakota enters Thursday's clash with a 9-3 overall record and has posted wins in four of its last five games overall.  The Coyotes were rewarded for their hot start with an appearance in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 this week.  USD checked in at No. 25 and received a total of 73 votes. 

Northern Arizona will mark the third opponent from the Big Sky Conference that South Dakota has faced this season having already dropped a 63-62 decision against Northern Colorado on Nov. 25 and notching a 75-73 victory over Eastern Washington in its most recent action on Dec. 10.

The Lumberjacks and Coyotes are tied in the all-time series 1-1 with each owning a victory on their home floor.  NAU and South Dakota will be meeting for the first time since the 1979-80 season when the square off on Thursday night in Flagstaff.

Following its meeting with South Dakota, NAU will return to the road for a pair of games at South Florida (Dec. 18) and at Jacksonville (Dec. 20) to close out the non-conference schedule.

In total, the 'Jacks will play 10 of their 13 non-conference games away from home.
