FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Dec. 19, 2017) – Northern Arizona senior wide receiver
Elijah Marks has been recognized as a member of the STATS FCS All-America Third Team, it was announced on Tuesday.
Marks, who was previously honored with Associated Press Second Team All-America status, is the 133rd Lumberjack to earn All-America accolades.
The senior receiver totaled a career-best 1,170 receiving yards on 71 receptions while helping lead the Lumberjacks to their first FCS Playoff appearance since 2013 following a 7-4 regular season record.
The yardage total ranked eighth nationally and was the third-highest single-season performance in NAU program history, behind only
Emmanuel Butler's 1,208 yards in 2015 and Clarence Moore's 1,184 in 2003.
He also ranked fourth among FCS national leaders with 117.0 receiving yards per game and seventh in receptions per contest at 7.1.
The senior standout also had a knack for the explosive play as he recorded a total of 16 catches of 25 yards or more and returned a kickoff 100 yards for a score in the Lumberjacks' win over Northern Colorado.
He posted at least 100 yards receiving in seven of the 10 games in which he saw action in 2017, including one 200-yard effort.
Marks, who was a 2017 All-Big Sky first team selection, ranked fifth nationally with 151.5 all-purpose yards per game and his career total of 3,761 sits sixth in NAU annals.
The Goodyear, Ariz., native also finished his Lumberjack career ranked among the program's leaders in receiving yards (2,359), receptions (150) and receiving touchdowns (20).
