FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Dec. 20, 2017) - The Northern Arizona football team has added a total of four players in the 2018 Early Signing Class that includes athletes from Arizona, California and Alaska, NAU head coach Jerome Souers confirmed on Wednesday.

Included in the class are three freshman early signees as well as a player inking from the junior college ranks.

"I am very pleased with the members of this year's early signing class in terms of how it adds depth and solidifies our program on both sides of the line of scrimmage," Souers said.  "We added some talented players on both the offensive and defensive lines as well as an immediate replacement to fill the void left after the graduation of All-Big Sky center Blake Porter."

Among the four players are an offensive lineman in former junior college player JaSean Harrison (El Camino College/Torrance, Calif.), defensive tackle John Clark (Liberty H.S./Peoria, Ariz.) as well as a pair of tight ends in Bric Hudnutt (Paradise Valley H.S./Phoenix, Ariz.) and Jarek Schultz (Colony, H.S./Palmer, Alaska).

"We covered the western half of the United States during this recruiting period as we signed players from Arizona, California and Alaska among this group," Souers said.  "It shows the reach of Northern Arizona and the positive presence we have with top talent across the west."

The players from this season's class will join the remainder of NAU football's incoming class, which is expected to be unveiled on Feb. 7.

"The staff did a terrific job in beginning to construct our 2018 signing class during the early period and we are very excited that today's group will build the foundation of what we anticipate will be another tremendous group of student-athletes during the February singing period," Souers added.  "We are very excited about the future of Lumberjack football and the talent we have coming into Flagstaff this summer."
