NAU OPENING DRIVE
  • The Lumberjacks return home for the final game of the regular season against North Dakota in a 2:30 p.m. kickoff from the Skydome that will be televised on Your Phoenix CW and Pluto TV (Channel 239).
  • NAU's game last weekend at Sacramento State was canceled due to poor air quality as a result of the Camp Fire that devastated the Sacramento region.  
  • The 'Jacks will be looking to snap a three-game losing skid following consecutive losses to Northern Colorado, Cal Poly and UC Davis.
  • The 'Jacks will be hosting North Dakota in Flagstaff for the first time since the 2013 season when NAU posted a 48-27 victory on Nov. 2, 2013.
  • NAU's has dropped each of the previous two meetings with North Dakota - both of which were played on the road in Grand Forks.  The Lumberjacks were defeated 38-31 on Nov. 12, 2016 and dropped a 30-28 decision on Nov. 15, 2014.
  • Saturday's game will mark NAU's annual "Senior Day".  The Lumberjacks will honor all 15 members of this year's graduating class in a pregame ceremony.
  • The NAU defense has forced a total of 23 turnovers over the first nine games this season - which ranks ninth among all FCS teams nationally and is tied for most in the Big Sky Conference.

NAU HOSTS NORTH DAKOTA IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE ON SATURDAY
The Lumberjacks will play their final game of the 2018 regular season on Saturday when they host North Dakota at the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome in a 2:30 p.m. MST kickoff.  

Saturday's game will be televised on Your Phoenix CW and Pluto TV (channel 239) with Mitch Strohman (play-by-play) and Kevin Stephens (analyst) on the call.  

The Lumberjack Radio network will also broadcast Saturday's clash with North Dakota beginning with the pregame show at 1:30 p.m. MST.  

The 'Jacks won will be facing the Fighting Hawks for the first time since Nov. 12, 2016 when North Dakota posted a 38-31 victory in Grand Forks.  The Fighting Hawks will be making their first trip to Flagstaff since Nov. 2, 2013 - which NAU won by a 48-27 margin.

The Lumberjacks will be looking to snap a two-game losing streak in the series with North Dakota.  NAU also enters Saturday's contest with a perfect 3-0 mark all-time vs. North Dakota in games played in Flagstaff.

North Dakota is playing as an independent this season as it transitions to the Missouri Valley Football Conference.  Saturday's game will count in the Big Sky Conference standings for the 'Jacks but will not for North Dakota.

NAU TO HONOR 15 SENIORS IN PREGAME CEREMONY
The Lumberjacks will honor the 15 members of this year's senior class in a pregame ceremony prior to the kickoff on Saturday vs. North Dakota.

DON'T GIVE UP 30
The Lumberjacks are a perfect 3-0 when allowing 30 points or less this season and 0-6 when allowing more than that total to their opponent in games this season.

GET ON THE BOARD FIRST
NAU is 3-1 this season when it scores first and winless at 0-5 when it allows its opponent to score the game's first points.

NAU GAME AT SACRAMENTO STATE CANCELED DUE TO WILD FIRES
The football game between Northern Arizona and Sacramento State which was originally scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 10, has been officially canceled.
 
The game was postponed on Saturday night due to poor air quality caused by the Camp Fire north of the Sacramento area.
 
Both Northern Arizona and Sacramento State officials explored options to reschedule the game, but could not find a compatible date this late in the season.

NAU VS. RANKED OPPONENTS
The Lumberjacks own a record of 16-41 in games against ranked FCS opponents since the 2000 season.

NAU has had solid success at home in recent seasons vs. ranked opponents.  

The 'Jacks boast a 5-2 mark against opponents ranked in the top 10 in home games since 2012 and are 6-4 overall at home vs. ranked foes since 2013.

NAU has lost four of its last six games against ranked opponents with the most recent victory against then-No. 6/7 Weber State by a 28-24 margin on Oct. 6, 2018.

SOUERS ALL-TIME AT HOME
NAU head coach Jerome Souers has tallied an all-time home record of 73-37 during his 20-plus seasons at the helm in Flagstaff.

Souers has posted winning home records in 18 of his first 20 seasons in charge of the Lumberjack football program, including a 5-2 mark in 2017.

The only losing records came during the 1999 (2-3) and 2000 (2-4) seasons.  The 1999 record included one loss that was due to forfeit for having an ineligible player in the lineup.
