Matt Baxter and his men's cross country teammates will look to complete a three-peat of the NCAA Division I Cross Country National Championships on Nov. 17th at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Madison, Wis. On Nov 16th he took part in the annual press conference for the event.
On the course:
"I think for us, that's what we need, to go over it once to see how it kind of looks and feels. In terms of a home course advantage, I think the Wisconsin boys might need that."
On possibly running in snow:
"I've never raced in snow before, so it will be an interesting, fun experience. I think once the weather gets as cold as it is now, if there's a little powder on the ground it's really not going to make too much of a difference. It maybe looks scarier than it really is. In Flagstaff, throughout the winter we run in the snow all the time so it's something we're quite used to. The snow is just going to add to another fun aspect of the day. It will change things up and make it a little harder for everyone."
