Golf In Striking Distance After Opening Two Rounds of Rebel Beach Invitational

DAY ONE RESULTS

LAS VEGAS - The Northern Arizona University women's golf program remains in striking distance after the opening two rounds of The Rebel Beach Invitational, hosted by the University of Las Vegas and Long Beach State at the Spanish Trail Golf Club on Monday.

NAU finds itself in seventh place after the opening day of action after posting rounds of 304 and 302 for a 30-over team score. Northern Arizona is just four strokes out of the top five.

The Lumberjacks were led by Loren Skibba who shot a six-over, good for a tie for 14th overall in the tournament.

Right behind her was the grouping of Sofia Anokhina (seven-over/T-20), Sierra Bezdicek (eight-over/T-29), Sierra Bezdicek (eight-over/T-29) and Kaitlyn Saum (nine-over/T-34).

Emma Reyes rounded things out with a 24-over (T-68).

Host UNLV leads the tournament after posting a day one of 14-over. Kennesaw State (15+), Ole Miss (18+), BYU (20+) and co-host Long Beach State (26+) round out the top five.

The Lumberjacks conclude The Rebel Beach Invitational with a final round of 18 holes beginning Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. MST.
