BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The Northern Arizona University women's golf program recorded its best performance of the season as the Lumberjacks shot a final round of 291 overall as a team to finish fourth in the conference at 27-over at the 2018 Big Sky Championships at Boulder Creek Golf Club on Sunday.
Junior
Sofia Anokhina led NAU as she finished fourth as an individual with a tournament total of two-under. She shot rounds totals of 69, 73 and 72.
Kaitlyn Saum bounced back from an opening round of 82 to record rounds of 71 and 72 for a tie for 18th at nine-over.
Sierra Bezdicek had a strong weekend as well and ended the tournament in a tie for 20th with a 10-over performance.
Loren Skibba posted a final round of 73 to finish at 14-over and 30th overall.
Lexi Keene rounded out the Lumberjack scoring unit at 22-over which tied her for 42nd overall.
Northern Arizona finished in the top four for the 13th consecutive season.
It was the last tournament of the careers of both Saum and Bezdicek.
Carly Akine will also be graduating from the Lumberjack program.
NAU returns a strong core to take a run at next year's conference championships that includes four returners along with multiple signees that joined the program.
